Cooking Vinyl Australia announces partnership with Run For Cover

Cooking Vinyl Australia has added another US indie label to its partners with the addition of Boston indie-rock label Run For Cover Records.

Run For Cover Records label manager Tom Chiari had been wanting to team-up with CVA’s co-director Stu Harvey for some time and last year,CVA eleased the albumYou’re Gonna Miss It Alllocally forRun For Cover signing Modern Baseball.

“We’ve been looking for the opportunity to work with Stu in Australia for a few years now,” said Chiari. “When we got the opportunity to release the Modern Baseball record with him and his team at Cooking Vinyl, it was a no-brainer.They've done a wonderful job bringing the band to a wider Australian audience and we’re thrilled to expand our partnership to include some incredible new artists and releases this year."

"Run For Cover have released some of my favourite albums of the last few years […]I'm stoked that we are going to start working on a bunch more great Run For Cover albums down here." added Harvey.

Cooking Vinyl Australia will issue Run For Cover’s releases in Australia and New Zealand, including Teen Suicide, Young Statues and Little Big League.

The first offering from the partnershipis from VirginiaBeach band Turnover (pictured), who drop sophomore album Peripheral Vision on May 8. Alt-rock band Citizen, who just wrapped up their maiden Australian tour, will then release Everybody Is Going To Heaven on June 26. Noise-pop band Pity Sex will release a second LP in late 2015 and UK band Basement have recorded a third full-length with producer Sam Pura, due out later this year.

Run For Cover join CVA’s partners Cooking Vinyl UK, Dine Alone, Razor & Tie, Resist, SideOneDummy and Thirty Tigers.

In February, CVA announced its heavy music imprint Double Cross with Canada’sCancer Bats, UK’s Gallows and local band High Tension. In March, Harvey and co-director Leigh Gruppetta added Oklahomaband Red City Radio to the imprint.
