“It’s an exciting time for us”: Linda Bosidis on Mushroom Music Publishing restructure
Mushroom Music Publishing, under the direction of MD Linda Bosidis, has announced a new company structure.
The changes follow the departure of Ian James in October of 2018, who spent 32 years as managing director.
The mass restructure sees several members of staff shift roles, while other roles have increased in scope and seen changes to titles.
Mushroom Music international operations’ Zoe Coverdale is now senior director, international.
She will continue to oversee existing partnerships and establish new relationships for international business and will be supported by Tahlia Ryan, promoted internally to the position of international assistant.
Zoe will also now work with Mushroom Group’s recently launched neighbouring rights company, Good Neighbour.
Meantime, Erol Yurdagul is promoted from A&R manager to head of A&R and creative. Erol is responsible for domestic writers, with support from Dom O’Connor, Bill Page, Dean McLachlan and Julian McGruther, the latter of which sees his creative manager role expand to facilitate collaborations and co-writes.
Jules Bain is now the head of sync for both publishing and labels. Her focus is on generating new business in Australia and overseas, and her team includes Abby Page, Ricky Birmingham and Lisa Businovski.
After 12 months working as a scout (and with four years at Lunatic Entertainment/Laneway Festival under his belt), Dom O’Connor joins Mushroom full-time as A&R assistant.
“It’s an exciting time for us,” says Bosidis.
“The restructure confirms Mushroom Music Publishing’s commitment to providing resources for our writers in a distinctive creative sense, meticulous administrative services, and the ongoing focus on finding domestic and international talent.
“It’s our staff and culture that distinguishes Mushroom Music as the most visionary, proactive, inclusive and successful independent publisher in Australasia.”
In the announcement, Mushroom also said the new structure is a key part of reaffirming a commitment to giving writers world-class innovative services and a modern and personal A&R approach.
“This restructure began with the appointment of Linda Bosidis as MD with a clear mandate to change and modernise the company,” said Mushroom Labels and Mushroom Music COO Chris Maund.
“With a focus on bolstering A&R, creative and sync, Linda now has an incredibly strong team who are motivated and determined to really deliver for our writers and catalogues.”
