Chugg outlines Aussie 50th celebrations
Michael Chugg told The Music Network that plans are being drawn up in Australia to celebrate his 50th anniversary in the business.
These include the re-release of his 2010 memoirs Hey! You In The Black T-shirt with new chapters, and a charity event in Sydney.
Celebrations started in London at the International Live Music Conference (when the likes of Eddie Vedder, Robbie Williams, Like Steele and Neil Finn sent their congratulations) and then continued at South By Southwest, with the launch of his Chugg Music label in North America.
Chugg started his career promoting bands in Tasmania, when he was 15. Before that he tried out to be a horse race caller. He got sacked on the first day when he swore over the PA system because the horse he bet on ran last.
