Chromeo pull out of Splendour In The Grass, replacement announced
Canadian funksters Chromeo have officially announced that they’re pulling out of Splendour In The Grass 2018.
The duo have also cancelled their two planned sideshows at Melbourne’s Max Watts and Sydney’s Metro Theatre later in the month, citing a punishing touring schedule as the reason for the departure.
“The rigours of our touring schedule have caught up with us and we need to prioritize our health and wellbeing,” the outfit said in the statement posted to their social media.
“We’re being told that this period would be best served as a time to rest. This was not an easy call to make. We hope you understand. Please know that we’re doing everything we can to reschedule our time in Australia.”
The pair are currently touring their fifth album, Head Over Heels, in the US and Canada until the start of November and are booked to perform at Lollapalooza, Montreal’s Osheaga festival and Bumbershoot in Seattle.
Stepping in to replace Chromeo will be The Presets, who have just wrapped up an Aussie tour off the back of their fourth LP, HI VIZ.
