Chris Wilson benefit reveal items up for auction at event

This week’s benefit show for the ailing blues singer-songwriter Chris Wilson, at the Corner Hotel on Friday, August 24, has sold out.

Performing are Harem Scarem, Heinous Hound, The Crown of Thorns, Three Kings, Chris Russell’s Chicken Walk, Barb Waters, Kerri Simpson, Jo Jo Smith, Shane O’Mara, Shannon Bourne, Phil Para, Eliza and Talei Wolfgramm and Fenn & George Wilson.

Wilson is too gravely ill with pancreatic cancer to attend the benefit.

All proceeds go to the Wilson family. A GoFundMe campaign raised $100,000 in 48 hours.

To generate more money, items are being auctioned during intermission. They include:

  • 10 tickets to see Rodriguez at Rochford Winery
  • Two Queenscliff Music Festival tix plus 3-day camping tix
  • Framed Wilson Diesel print from original Pierre Baroni photo shoot
  • George Racz hand tooled Chris Wilson guitar strap
  • Two by Tex Perkins Men In Black tix, including $150 Crown restaurant or spa gift card
  • Autographed Molly Meldrum hat
  • Two tickets to see Cher at Rod Laver Arena
  • Two tickets to see David Byrne at Margaret Court Arena
  • Blues Train gift and merch card
  • Greville Records rare vinyl & harmonica blues pack
  • Deluxe Cosmetic pack
  • 2 tickets to Queens of the Stone Age at MCA
  • 2 tickets to see Mark Seymour at The Athenaeum
  • Heinous Hounds canvas artwork from Pauline Bailey

Three major items will be auctioned on-stage by MC James Young with all other items being part of a Silent Auction hosted at the merchandise stand on the night.
