Childish Gambino axes sold-out Australian tour

Childish Gambino axes sold-out Australian tour

Childish Gambino’s toe injury from late September during a Dallas show isn’t getting better as fast as he would like.

Yesterday, Live Nation Australia had to axe five sold-out Australian shows to start late next week.

Canberra’s Spilt Milk festival on November 17 also issued a statement yesterday.

Gambino aka Donald Glover released a message through the promoter, “I’m not ready to put on 100% shows. Apologies to the fans. I will be back soon.”

He has had to cancel US arena dates, as well as festivals as Austin City Limits and Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in New Orleans on the weekend.

The affected Live Nation Australian shows are:

Thursday, Nov 8: HBF Stadium, Perth

Saturday, Nov 10: Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne

Wednesday, Nov 14: Sydney Opera House Forecourt

Thursday, Nov 15: Sydney Opera House Forecourt

The Australian promoter stated: “Live Nation is working with the artist to try and reschedule the dates for a new time period, we ask fans to please stay tuned – any updates will be available on Live Nation’s website, Facebook and Twitter.”

Spilt Milk confirmed details of refunds for its event.

It said: “Spilt Milk is devastated to share the news that Childish Gambino has cancelled his upcoming UK, European and Australian performances due to an injury he sustained last month.

“We are gutted that Gambino can’t make it and we know that many of you are as disappointed as we are. Our thoughts are with Donald and we wish him a speedy recovery.

“An artist the calibre of Childish Gambino can never truly be replaced so close to event day, but we will be announcing an exciting lineup addition shortly.

“Refunds are available from October 30 via moshtix until November 1, 2018 at 3pm AEST.”
