Casey Barnes joins the Mushroom Music Publishing roster
After two chart-topping singles on the TMN Country Hot 50 this year, singer-songwriter Casey Barnes continues his ascent via a deal with Michael Gudinski’s Mushroom Music Publishing.
The Gold Coast artist’s 2020 album Town of a Million Dreams has been a true home-grown success story. It debuted at #2 on the ARIA Australian Country Albums Chart.
The album is also nominated for Best Country Album at next month’s ARIA Awards.
He is signed to Michael Chugg And Andrew Stone’s Chugg Music for management and records, a roster that includes this year’s most-nominated ARIAs act, Lime Cordiale.
“Chugg Music is very pleased to have Casey signed with Mushroom Publishing, and together with our combined international profiles and contacts, we believe we can help Casey make incredible music both with the songwriting and live performances moving forward,” Chugg said.
Barnes’ first #1 on the Country Hot 50 was the fan favourite ‘Sparks Fly’ in March, which ultimately ended a long-raging battle between Morgan Evans and Brad Cox for the top position.
He achieved that same feat again when ‘We’re Good Together’ topped the music industry’s official genre-based airplay chart in July, closing a seven-week run by The Wolfe Brothers.
Gudinski said in a statement that Barnes has worked very hard to get to this point.
“Together with Chugg Music, I firmly believe that his modern country style and attitude will soon see him cross over to the mainstream charts,” the Mushroom founder and chairman said.
Barnes’ new single ‘Bright Lights’ is out now.
