Birds of Tokyo’s Lanterns most-played song on commercial radio in 2013

NB: The statistics and rankings in this story reference AirCheck commercial radio spins data, which is only one element of the TMN Charts we compile weekly, which take into consideration listenership, radio ratings, community stations, Triple J spins, plus numerous other factors. Therefore our 2013 Hot 100 chart, which we will publish this coming Friday, will differ from this list.

Birds of Tokyo’s Lanterns was the most played track on commercial radio in 2013, reports media monitoring service AirCheck.

The track was played 17,419 times on stations in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Gold Coast, Newcastle, Central Coast and Geelong.

It is possible that the airplay number for the track is higher as the survey does not include airplay data from triple j or community radio, both of which are supporters of the band.

Following Lanterns at #2 was Passenger’s Let Her Go (17, 376) then Pink feat. Nate Ruess’ Just Give Me A Reason (16,131). Bastille’s Pompeii (15,664) was the fourth most-spun track, followed by The Lumineers’ Ho Hey (14,786).

Other to make the top ten include: Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams’ Get Lucky (14,697); Avicii’s Wake Me Up (14,639); Robin Thicke feat TI & Pharrell’s Blurred Lines (14,631); Bruno Mars’ When I Was Your Man (13,582), and Vance Joy’s Riptide (13,417).
