BIGSOUND Buzz relaunches for 2017 with real-time Spotify playlists and more features
After launching at last year’s conference, BIGSOUND Buzz is back again in 2017, with some addedimprovements to help fans to keep up with the most talked-about and hyped artists.
Buzz measures the rateof online activityaround artists being showcased at BIGSOUND. It works by using a proprietary algorithm that takes into account volume, engagement and influence, and then shows you a leaderboard of artists with the most online chatter over various time periods.
This year, the team has added a number of new features to enhance user experience and provide a gateway for music discovery.
As BIGSOUND leaderboards shift throughout the week, a new integrated Spotify playlist will update in real-time. Artists can now be segmented by state and an audio preview of artists is also available.
The app was a big hit in its inauguralyear, receiving the Site Of The Day honor from Typewolf and CSS Winner, while AWWWARDS and Twitter also got behind the app.
“We wanted to take this year’s version of Buzz even further,” says Alex Zaccaria, Co-Founder of Bolster, the digital and creative agency behind the app.
“The algorithm has even been tightened up to consider updates from Facebook and it’s integrated with Spotify to encourage discovery. Every time the Buzz charts update, the Spotify playlists are updated as well.”
Co-director Anthony Zaccariahighlights Buzz’s abilityto streamline and improve the BIGSOUND conference experience for all punters by connecting people with more local showcased artists.
“Buzz started as a fun way to challenge ourselves to build and design something both cool and useful. With 150-plus artists playing over four days, it’s a really great resource to anyone attending BIGSOUND – and even those who can’t.”
BIGSOUND Buzz is now live at BIGSOUND.BUZZ. Punters can follow the live Spotify playlists and sign up to daily updates via email, Instagram, Facebook.
