Prolific: Beck returns with 14th studio album ‘Hyperspace’
Beck has been a fixture on the global music scene for two and a half decades – something of a living boundary and genre-pushing kaleidoscope.
His latest record Hyperspace is his 14th album, and in that time the US act has won seven Grammys.
The record is released through Capital Records/EMI and could be his most collaborative and futuristic album to date.
Hyperspace is an 11-track record, with co-writes and production from a list including Pharrell Williams, Cole M.G.N, Sky Ferreira, Paul Epworth, Terrel Hines and Chris Martin.
In addition, Beck’s long-standing bandmates Jason Falkner, Smokey Hormel and Roger Manning Jr. also contribute.
It’s undoubtedly another effort in versatility from Beck, off the back of previously record Colours which won Best Alternative Music Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical at the 61st GRAMMY Awards.
Few would bet against Beck taking home more accolades for this latest, effort, which has already been described by Rolling Stone as a “dark, heavenly pop fantasy.”
Hyperspace is out now.
