Australian radio gets behind ARIA artists ahead of tonight’s Awards

Since ARIA Week commenced two Fridays ago, Australian radio has been throwing its weight behind an array of artists involved in this year’s festivities.

There’s been significant airplay chart movement over the past fortnight for the likes of Rita Ora, Keith UrbanAmy Shark and 5SOS, who are all on the bill to perform at tonight’s Awards.

Urban will also act as MC for the ceremony this evening, while Shark (nine) and 5 Seconds Of Summer (four) are hot favourites to take home some accolades.

Ora’s latest single ‘Let You Love Me’ has risen eight frames on the TMN Hot 100 over the past two weeks, hitting a new peak at #6.

After winning Most Added To Radio a fortnight ago, Urban’s ‘Way Too Long’ has gone from strength-to-strength, peaking at #35 on its second charting week.

Country radio is also well and truly behind ‘Way Too Long’. KIX Country Network and Triple M Country have added the track to their playlists, culminating in a #23 peak on TMN’s Country airplay chart, up 10 frames.

Two weeks ago, 5 Seconds Of Summer’s ‘Youngblood’ re-entered the Top 15 for the first time in four weeks.

While Amy Shark’s airplay may have dipped on the latest chart, her fortunes may change over the coming weeks depending on the results of the Awards.

As mentioned, Shark is up for numerous gongs, including Apple Music Song Of The Year. The same award was won last year by Peking Duk‘s ‘Stranger’, which immediately re-entered the Hot 100 at #82 before moving up to #72.
