ARIA Chart Predictions: 360 comes full circle for Top 3 finish

THE HOME FRONT

The gate is wide open for P!NK and Ed Sheeran to continue their form on the ARIA Albums Chart this week. The only true threat coming through is Aussie rapper 360 whose latest album Vintage Modern is looking at a Top 5 finish at the very least. 360 has never had a #1 album in Australia with 2014’s Utopia coming so close at #2.

Other debuts on the chart come from Hanson with their festive LP Finally It’s Christmas, as well as Kelly Clarkson’s latest effort Meaning Of Life. Both are tipped to land in the lower half of the Top 10.

The strongest debut on the Singles Chart is Selena Gomez & Marshmello’s radio-ready collab ‘Wolves’. A Top 15 debut is likely withfurther upwards movementinevitableover the coming weeks.

Both Macklemore (‘Good Old Days’ ft. Kesha) and flavour-of-the-month act Post Malone (‘I Fall apart’) are on the move withboth singles vying for the Top 10. The latter currently sits at #1 on the chart with his commercial breakthrough single ‘rockstar’ ft. 21 Savage.

OVERSEAS UNDER THE MICROSCOPE

Stereophonics are firm contenders for a seventh UK #1 this week as their latest studio album Scream Above The Sounds surpasses 30,000 so far in the week. Fighting for the top spot is English duo Michael Ball & Alfie Boe whose musical bromance has spawned a second collab album Together Again.

Camila Cabello is on the rise in the UK with ‘Havana’ ft. Young Thug. It may deny Post Malone his fourth week at the top with ‘rockstar’ ft. 21 Savage. Apart from this, the Top 5 will likely remain fairly stagnant with Marshmello, Ed Sheeran and Avicii continuing to deliver strong sales numbers.

Meanwhile, crossover act Portugal. The Man have become the first artist to top US charts Radio Songs, Pop Songs, Adult Pop Songs, Alternative Songs and Adult Alternative Songs since an Australian did it in 2012. Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ ft. Kimbra held each chart for multiple weeks and was crowned Billboard’s Hot 100 #1 single of the year.
