ARIA Chart Predictions: Sam Smith eyes another #1 on the Albums Chart
English singer-songwriterSam Smith is in the hunt for his second #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart this week with The Thrill Of It All. Smith is looking to keep his 100% success rate going on the chart, as his only previous album In The Lonely Hour eventually hit #1 58 weeks after debuting at #2.
Another notable debut on the chart this week come Australian artist Guy Sebastian. His new LP Conscious is a good chance at debuting in the Top 5. Sebastian also has great hit rate on the chart having hit the summit with two of his previous albums – 2003’s Just As I Am and 2012’s Armageddon.
Maroon 5’s sixth studio album Red Pill Blues will surely shake up the Top 10 this week, as will country pop sensation Kelsea Ballerini’s new release Unapologetically.
In light of the 30th anniversary of INXS’ 1987 album Kick, the band’s greatest hits record is generating improved sales this week and will likely land in the Top 15. Similarly, the impending christmas season has spurred on Michael Buble’s festive mainstay Christmas.
There’s some love for Jet frontman Nic Cester’s debut solo effort Sugar Rush which will look to work its way up the chart over the coming weeks.
Shifting gears over to Singles, Post Malone is resolute as ever and is tipped to stay at #1 for another week. ‘Rockstar’ ft. 21 Savage is currently on its sixth week at #1 after debuting at #8.
Taylor Swift is eyeing a Top 10 debut with her fourth Reputation cut ‘Call It What You Want’, as previous singles ‘Gorgeous’ (#26), ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ (#32) and ‘…Ready For It?’ (#44) circulate across the chart ahead of the album’s release.
