Applications open for Melbourne arts grants
Applications for the City of Melbourne’s 2015 Arts Grants Program have opened.
Funding of up to $20,000 is available for projects that “enliven the city and engage, challenge and excite residents, workers and visitors”. These have, in the past, included funding for live events, music workshops, and the recording of albums. These projects must be delivered within the City of Melbourne municipality, in 2015.
Chair of Council’s Arts and Culture portfolio, Councillor Rohan Leppert said, “Artists and the work they do have a special role in a creative city. The City of Melbourne aims to be a key player in the development of a flourishing arts scene in the city by investing in artists and arts organisations.
“Investment in the arts is central to Melbourne’s creative community. The work produced through the arts grants program is integral to the continual development of Melbourne’s arts scene.”
Interested parties can apply via the City of Melbourne’s website.
