Amrap Chart Wrap – Talented Groups Climb to Top of Community Radio Charts

The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the Top 10tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week sees two groups scale the charts to take the top spots.

The Waifs have climbed to #1 in the Amrap Regional Chart with the raw but buoyant 6000 Miles. Watch a live performance clip of the homesick track as featured via Amrap Pages on station websites including 4ZZZ Brisbane, Melton Community Radio VIC and Byron Bay FM NSW. The track has racked up further airplay in every state and territory at stations including Radio Adelaide, ArtSound FM in ACT, King Island Community Radio in TAS, 8CCC in NT, Tjuma Pulka Media Aboriginal Corporation in WA, Valley FM, 4DDB, Bay FM and Cairns FM in QLD, JOY 94.9, 3WAY and Phoenix FM in VIC, and also 2AIR, Bega Community Radio and Greater Hume Radio in NSW.

90s exuding girl group Major Leagues have ascended the Amrap Metro Chart to #1 with the endearing single Someone Sometime. The single has hit a sweet spot with metropolitan stations, picking up a spot in their hometown station 4ZZZ Brisbane’s Top 20 and rotation on FBi Radio Sydney. Emma Donovan & The PutBacks continue to dominate the Amrap Regional Chart, coming in at #2 with the gritty blues soaked tones of Black Woman. The talented funk soul sister and crew have received airplay across the country at stations including Gove FM in NT, Fraser Coast FM in QLD, Edge Radio and The Voice of the Midlands in TAS, Radio Goolarri, Heritage FM, Radio MAMA and 6DBY in WA, Fleurieu FM, Radio Adelaide, 5THE and 5GTR in SA, Triple R, Casey Radio, Ballarat Community Radio and 3WBC in VIC, as well as Port Stephens Radio, 2TLC, Northside Radio in NSW.

Eagle-eared Melbourne producer Andrei Eremin has entered the Amrap Metro Chart, guns blazing at #2 with Anhedoniac. Eremin’s liquid beats have earned him a spot in RTR FM Perth’s Sound Selection and SYN Melbourne’s Sweet 16 playlist. The atmospheric single has racked up further airplay at 5GTR in SA, Twin Cities Radio in WA, FBi Radio, 2RRR and 2EAR in NSW, as well as Triple R, 3RPC and SYN in VIC.

Gurrumul continues his strong run in the Amrap Regional Chart, coming in at #3 with the devotional single Jesu. Dynamic Sydney four pieces CREO and Pirra have cracked the Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts at #7 with their respective singles Light it Up and Something Has Changed. Listen to CREO’s lead singer JorJee Haman interviewed on SYN Melbourne’s The Hoist, talking band dynamics and perfectionism in music while Pirra had a yarn with the crew from Indigi-Briz on 4ZZZ.
