Amrap Chart Wrap – Perth Songwriter Dominates Community Radio Charts

The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight on what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the top ten tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week sees an oldie and a newbie top the Amrap Metro and Regional Charts.

Morgan Bain is ruling the Amrap Charts this week, taking #1 on the Regional Chart and #2 in the Metro Chart with the soul/blues tune Why Don’t you Stay. View the track’s official music clip via Amrap Pages at 2RRR Sydney and North West FM in VIC. Morgan has racked up airplay across Australia at OCR FM in VIC, KCR FM in WA, 2BBB in NSW, 8CCC in Alice Springs and Valley FM in QLD. Watch him perform live-to-air on 89.7 FM in WA here.

Upskirts debut at #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart with the fuzzy pop/rock number Nothing Happens in Roseville. The Sydney four-piece have picked up high rotation on FBi Radio Sydney and SYN Melbourne and are well-liked across the eastern states with further airplay on Valley FM Brisbane, Edge Radio Hobart and RPP FM and 3MDR in VIC.

Alpine have notched up their fifth week in the Amrap Metro Chart with their sugary pop single Foolish and are holding their ground in the Regional Chart, coming in at #8. The track’s official film clip is gaining traction on station websites across the country including 4ZZZ Brisbane, RTR FM Perth, Triple R Melbourne, Edge Radio Hobart, and FBi Radio and Bay FM in NSW. The Melbourne pop group have also picked up a spot in this week’s 4ZZZ Top 20.

Melbourne melodist Ainslie Wills enters the Regional Chart at #2 and returns at #5 in the Metro Chart with her new prog pop tune Hawaii. Ainslie’s silky vocals have landed her airplay on Radio Adelaide, 4ZZZ Brisbane, Noongar Radio Perth, 2RRR and TLC FM in NSW, City Park Radio in TAS and SYN and North West FM in VIC.

Bunna Lawrie enters the Amrap Charts for the first time, coming in at #6 in the Regional Chart with Mother. The charismatic storyteller and Coloured Stone front man has garnered airplay across a vast array of stations including 979 FM in VIC, Pintubi Anmatjere Warlpiri Radio in the NT, Radio Goolarri in WA, Radio Adelaide, 4ZZZ in Brisbane and 2RRR and Nambucca Valley Radio in Sydney.

Elizabeth Rose also debuts at #7 in the Regional Chart with her shimmering new single Another Earth. The single was premiered on Mornings on FBi Radio Sydney. Listen to the interview here.

Batpiss enter the Amrap Metro Chart at #8 with the slow burning sludge track Spiritually Challenged. Watch this video of them performing live on their hometown station 3CR in Melbourne earlier this year.
