Amrap Chart Wrap – James Fox Higgins and WAAX Top Community Radio Charts

The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the Top 10 tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week sees James Fox Higgins and WAAX claim the top spots.

Brisbane four-piece WAAX take #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart with I for an Eye. Listen to them interviewed on The Hoist on SYN Melbourne, talking about the single, playing live and their secret love of gangsta music. The frayed rock single has received airplay in every state and territory at Edge Radio Hobart, Harvey Community Radio in WA, 8CCC in NT, 2XX FM and Valley FM in ACT, 4ZZZ and Valley FM QLD, Vox FM, Eastside FM, 2SEA and 2REM in NSW, as well as Triple R, 3NRG, 3RPP and Voice FM in VIC.

James Fox Higgins has taken the top spot in the Amrap Regional Chart with That Lady featuring Lionel Cole. The Sydney soulmen have racked up airplay across Australia at 6DBY in WA, Cairns FM and 4EB in QLD, 5THE, Hills Radio and Radio Adelaide in SA, 2MCE, Port Stephens Radio, C.O.W. FM and 2RRR in NSW as well as Inner FM, Radio Upper Murray, 3RPC and Voice FM in VIC.

Sydney music veterans Palms have entered the Amrap Metro Chart at #2 with Bad Apple. The guitar pop track has achieved rotation on FBi Radio Sydney, as well as a spot on SYN Melbourne’s Sweet 16. Critique the band’s skating ability in their official film clip featured via Amrap Pages on FBi Radio Sydney, 4ZZZ Brisbane and Triple R Melbourne.

Jinja Safari have taken #3 in the Amrap Regional Chart with their calypso pop track Find My Way. Check out their Super8 inspired clip featured via Amrap Pages on station websites including 2RRR and Nambucca Valley Radio in NSW. The track has achieved further airplay across the country at 6DBY in WA, Cairns FM in QLD, Hills Radio, Radio Adelaide, 5YYY and Tribe FM in SA, HOT FM, The Pulse and 3MDR in VIC, and 2GLF, 2TLC, Yass FM and FBi Radio.

Jess Ribeiro has climbed to #3 in the Amrap Metro Chart with the haunting single Kill It Yourself. Watch the foreboding, yet beautiful music clip featured via Amrap Pages on Triple R Melbourne, Edge Radio Hobart and 4ZZZ Brisbane. The song has received additional airplay across the country at Noosa Community Radio in QLD, Three D Radio in SA, RTR FM in WA, 2TLC, 2AIR, Macarthur Community Radio and Byron Bay FM in NSW, as well as 3SER, 3RPC, 3MGB and Southern FM in VIC.

Mike de Velta is at #5 in the Amrap Regional Chart with the hooker style blues of Bring It On Hard. Pretty City debut at #7 in the Amrap Metro Chart with Melt. Catch the Melbourne three piece interviewed on SYN Melbourne chatting about their new Triple A-side release, having scored a spot in SYN’s Sweet 16 playlist. The band have amassed a community radio following that includes King Island Community Radio in TAS, Tjuma Pulka FM and 6TCR in WA, Bay FM and Valley FM in QLD 5THE, Hills Radio and PBA FM in SA, Inner FM and 3RPP in VIC, and 2SSR, Triple H and 2SEA in NSW.
