Teddy Cream’s Brandon Mangion teams up with Mindfull Aus

Teddy Cream’s Brandon Mangion teams up with Mindfull Aus

Melbourne producer and DJ Brandon Mangion is embarking on a ‘Fight For Mental Health’, teaming up with Aussie mental health and suicide prevention charity Mindfull Aus.

Mangion, one half of electronic duo Teddy Cream, is looking to inspire others in the music industry after a long fight with his own demons and poor mental health.

At just 24 years of age, Mangion is also club owner, but suffered through six years of alcohol and substance abuse during a relentless touring schedule as a musician.

He’s since turned a corner and says he’s now in a much better head space. As a result, he’s trying to use his platform to help others, raising funds for Mindfull Aus while also aiming for a year of sobriety.

“Mental health is more important now than ever before. Nobody should suffer in silence and feel like they don’t have a way out or have anyone to turn to,” Mangion tells TMN.

“Everyone deserves to live a happy and fulfilling life and they can. I teamed up with Matt [Runnalls] and Mindfull Aus because the work they do in high-risk areas of mental health is so important and they actually take action and dive in head first at tackling the stigma, as well as providing support for community and youth.”

Since the pandemic hit, Mangion has also been studying Life Coaching at Sharon Pearson’s coaching school: ‘The Coaching Institute’.

“My hope is that by fundraising for Mindfull Aus, I can inspire others who may be going through a similar personal battle, to seek help if they need it, and also to provide funds to help them continue to do the important work they have been doing so well. I was truly moved by their cause and believe together, we can make a difference,” he says.

Mindfull Aus was founded on the premise of taking a youthful, relatable and enthusiastic approach, to talking about their thoughts, feelings and emotions.

Mindful Aus founder Matt Runnalls says bringing on board Mangion has been a big boost for the charity.

“The difference between how much we say we care and how much we show it is the difference the world is aching for – therefore to be able to be working collaboratively with inspiring and enthusiastic young change agents like Brandon will give us great excitement that he will impact and reach numerous amounts of young champions that otherwise may not of,” Runnalls says.

“He has a unique story that will appeal to many and we are grateful for people who show up and choose courage on these hard and sharp edges of love and life.”

Brandon Mangion recently uploaded a video telling his story and has already helped raise almost $6,000 so far.
