Native Tongue sign Liam McGorry, aka Ex-Olympian
Independent music publisher Native Tongue has signed Liam McGorry, aka Ex-Olympian.
“It’s a real honour to sign with Native Tongue,” McGorry said in a press statement today.
McGorry said the label’s staff have been incredibly positive and supportive over the last few years
“To be joining such a talented and extensive local lineup is really exciting,” he said.
McGorry unveiled his Ex-Olympian project earlier this year. The moniker takes its name from a neon sign on Melbourne’s Lygon Street.
Ex-Olympian has shared two singles thus far, ‘Voices In My Head’ and ‘Lilac Youth (feat. Nkechi Anele)’.
McGorry is also a member of Dorsal Fins and Saskwatch, playing trumpet in both bands.
“We’ve been a fan of Liam’s songwriting and production for a number of years, so we absolutely jumped at the opportunity to work with him,” Native Tongue’s head of creative services Matt Tanner said.
“His touchstones are the freshest, and he digs deep to create. Liam is an inspiring creative to be involved with”.
Since the beginning of the year, Native Tongue has added a handful of new artists to their roster. The label has signed Alice Ivy, Lastlings and Jeremy Redmore in addition to McGorry.
