A panel of industry experts will discuss online communities during the next Side B Sessions, a series of free online talks initiated by digital and creative agency Bolster.

Moderated by New York-based music strategist Amber Horsburgh, the Cultivating Communities workshop will livestream on Thursday (June 4) from 10am AEST.

Panellists include Amanda Palmer’s community manager Hayley Rosenblum, Patreon’s head of community Mindy Day, Benchmob CEO Jahan Karimaghayi and Collab executive Jerry Soer.

Karimaghayi will share his experience of managing the social channels for Flume and Diplo.

Together they will delve into the value of creating and nurturing online communities and how brands should align with active communities and weather to monetise them.

Cultivating Communities is the fourth instalment of Side B Sessions, an online continuation of Bolster’s Side B Live conference, which took place in Melbourne and Sydney last year.

Each event is free and open to the industry via registration via the Side B Sessions website.

The series brings together industry thought leaders and specialists to discuss the intersection between digital, music, tech, entertainment and brand.

Past panels included an updated look at the digital media landscape in the wake of COVID-19, a session on how to captivate your audience with content, and a panel on live streaming.

Panellists included Unified founder Jaddan Commerford, musician Holly Rankin, Dew Process’ general manager Alex Young and artist manager Nick O’Byrne from Look Out Kid.
