Three of the most exciting stars in Australian country music; Caitlyn Shadbolt, Melanie Dyer & Sinead Burgess, are set to co-host the 48th annual Toyota Golden Guitar Awards.

The trio will help celebrate the biggest night in country music this country has to offer, hosting Australia’s longest-running music awards

Shadbolt has just dropped her latest single ‘Bones’, Dyer is currently the hottest act on Aussie country radio with ‘Memphis T-Shirt’ topping the TMN Country Hot 50, while Burgess’ latest release ‘Reno’ is also charting.

The first round of performers have also been announced, with Lee Kernaghan set to perform as well as Felicity Urquart, The Wolfe Brothers and Gina Jeffreys.

Busy Marou will also perform the ceremony for the first time, joined by 2019 Toyota Star Marker Blake O’Connor.

INXS founder and songwriter Andrew Farris is set to perform a new song from his highly anticipated debut country album.

“We are proud of the strength of our industry, and the awards are a time that we can come together to celebrate its success and congratulate those who make it what it is,” said CMAA chair Dan Biddle.

“The quality of the hosts and performers taking the stage for the 48th Awards is a testament to the quality of work we are producing, and we are so excited to kick off what will no doubt be another great year of country music in Australia.”

“There’s no better way to spend your Saturday night at the Toyota Country Music Festival than in the company of some of Australia’s most talented artists,” added Toyota Golden Guitar Awards executive producer Peter Ross.

“We encourage anyone and everyone to grab a ticket, come along and enjoy the show – it’s going to be a great one!”

Lee Kernaghan has made country music history

One gong has already been announced, with Kernaghan awarded the Golden Guitar for Top Selling Country Album of 2019.

Backroad Nation, his 15th studio LP, and was the highest-selling Aussie country album between January 1 and December 31, 2019.

It gave Kernaghan his 38th Golden Guitar Award, equalling the record set by the late Slim Dusty, and few would be against him to surpass the great man sooner rather than later.

The 2020 Toyota Golden Guitar Awards take place at Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre during the Toyota Country Music Festival on Saturday, January 25.
