Sony Music registers highest Top 40 airplay market share since 2017
Sony Music Entertainment has increased its Top 40 market share to a near two-year high.
The major label clocked in at 33.96% this week, its highest percentage of the bracket since November of 2017.
Camila Cabello, Guy Sebastian, Tones And I, Khalid and Normani occupy the first five spots on the latest TMN Hot 100 Airplay Chart.
Sony will be also be pleased with the progress of singles from Miley Cyrus (‘Slide Away’, #15) and Cabello (‘Liar’, #28), with the latter holding three spots in the Top 30.
The result adds competition to the field, led by Universal Music Australia at 42.26%. UMA has regularly held more than 50% in 2019 and continues to set the pace.
EMI Music Australia and Warner Music Australia occupy 12.80% and 10.12% of the Top 40, respectively, as indie labels account for less than one percent.
