It’s already been a huge year for Birds Of Tokyo, with the Aussie rockers now unleashing the latest in a string of big singles.

‘The Greatest Mistakes’ is out today through EMI Music Australia, and based on the band’s recent airplay success, the track should see a warm reception at radio.

ARIA Platinum track ‘Good Lord’ not only spent time on triple j rotation, but cracked many CHR and Triple M playlists.

The track peaked at #5 on the TMN Hot 100 Airplay Chart, Birds’ highest chart position since 2013’s ‘Lanterns’.

‘The Greatest Mistakes’ has already picked up early adds to Triple M Regional, 92.5 GOLD FM, Mix 94.5, and Triple M Sydney (ATB), giving it a good chance at most added.

The tune is cut from the same cloth as ‘Good Lord’, and frontman Ian Kenny even admits that ‘The Greatest Mistakes’ came from a similar mindset: “It’s actually inspired by the same personal experience as the last single.

“But it’s got the perspective of thankfully being a bit further down the road. Fuck it. Shake it off. Time to move on!”

The tune, partly recorded in a Sydney pub, comes with its own music video.

Birds Of Tokyo were the highest Australian act listed on the Q2 Hot 100 chart, and ‘The Greatest Mistakes’ could be set to deliver a big second half of the year for the band.

They embark on their ‘Good Lord’ National Tour next month.
