Songwriter data now available on Jaxsta following APRA AMCOS deal
Jaxsta has already been dubbed the IMDB of the music industry, for good reason.
The Aussie tech startup launched a beta version of its music-credits platform in June, with 100 million credits from 19 million recordings.
Now its users will have access to data from APRA AMCOS’ 100,000+ members, including credits collected from songwriters, composers and music publishers.
APRA AMCOS is just the latest deal struck by Jaxsta.
The performing rights organisation join The Recording Academy, Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group and Merlin.
“With Jaxsta.com Beta live, we are excited to now include the partnership we have been working on for some time with the team at APRA AMCOS,” says Jaxsta CEO and co-founder Jacqui Louez Schoorl.
APRA AMCOS chief executive Dean Ormston says he’s proud to be the first performing rights organisation to partner with Jaxsta.
“In the age of digital music consumption it’s never been more crucial to ensure there is accurate, authoritative information available about the identity of the amazing Australian and New Zealand songwriters and composers behind the songs,” says Ormston.
“Jaxsta gives much-deserved credit to our songwriter and composer members and their works.”
The Sydney-based startup plans to become the world’s largest knowledge bank for artists, musicians, songwriters, producers, engineers and media within the music community.
The company was founded in 2015 by Jacqui Louez Schoorl and Louis Schoorl to ensure that everyone involved in recorded music receives the attribution that once lived within liner notes.
The platform’s data is sourced from partner agreements brokered over two years, allowing Jaxsta to provide music-credits on over 80% of global music releases.
