This Record Changed My Life: Johnny Ruffo

The first album that I ever bought, where I knew, “Yeah, this it” was actually Off The Wall by Michael Jackson, I bought it in 2001 from memory. I loved it, I’d just go through every song.

He was one of those guys, I read stories that he would write one hundred tracks per album, so there’s no wonder that, if you buy an album of his with eleven tracks, you love eleven tracks ’cos every track is just crafted so well. You just get the best of his hundred track for that album.

It’s funny, most artists put out an album once every year or every two, but MJ and Stevie Wonder, they’d only have an album every three or so years, and they were working on the album for the entire duration because that’s how long it took to craft these songs. That’s the album for me: Off The Wall.
