Frontier stands beside touring giants in Billboard Live Music Award nominations

Australian and New Zealand independent live promoter Frontier Touring has been nominated in the ‘Top Promoters’ category at the 2018 Billboard Live Music Awards.

The company is only up against two others in the category, touring behemoths Live Nation and AEG.

“It is a massive achievement to see an independent Australasian promoter listed against the two largest players in the world,” managing director of Frontier Touring, Michael Gudinski said.

“Frontier has gone from strength to strength in recent years.  Each year I tell our team that it can’t get any bigger than the last and then we smash it out of the park again.”

Frontier had a huge success with Ed Sheeran’s 2018 Australian and New Zealand run which broke local records by selling over 1 million tickets, making it the highest selling Australian and New Zealand tour of all time.

“Kicking off 2018 with Ed’s record-breaking run of Australia and New Zealand was a standout moment for the company and I’m so incredibly proud that we’ve been involved in his career from the very beginning,” said Gudinski.

“Loyalty and passion are two things that define Frontier’s business model and Ed is the epitome of these traits.”

They were also responsible for bringing out Paul McCartney, Harry Styles, Muse, Foo Fighters and a stack more in the last 12 months. All in all, during Billboard’s qualification period (Oct 1, 2017-Sep 30, 2018), Frontier sold in excess of 2.61 million tickets across Australia and New Zealand.

The win would cap off a tremendous year for Frontier who also placed sixth worldwide and number one in Australasia on Pollstar’s 2018 Mid-Year Top 100 Promoters list.

A number of 2019 tours are already in Frontier’s pipeline including John Butler Trio & Missy HigginsLily AllenShawn Mendes and more.
