EXCLUSIVE: Untitled Group team up with Caroline Australia to launch ‘Daily Nightly’ record label

Untitled Group, also known as the team behind Beyond The Valley festival, has today announced the launch of a brand new record label in partnership with Caroline Australia, Daily Nightly.

Named after the 1967 track from The Monkee‘s Michael Nesmith, the new label is adopting the boundary-pushing ethos of the tune while also complimenting Untitled’s sterling reputation for musical events.

“Coming across so much amazing talent while curating our festivals, you can’t book the same act for every event and sometimes booking them may not be possible,” label director Filippo Palermo told TMN.

“Developing and promoting their recorded music is another way we’re able to support artists we believe in and in turn wish to have perform at one of our events.

“The label will have a focus on complimenting the music we promote with unique bespoke live performance from our artists that only our group can offer.”

Daily Nightly have also revealed the two acts that will kick off the launch of the label.

Melbourne hip hop duo Big Words might only have a debut EP under their belt but they’re already clocked up four million Spotify spins after popping up on festivals like Strawberry Fields, Ability Fest and Pitch Music & Arts.

Their upcoming double single Slow Dance is slated to drop Friday, October 26.

Hailing from a bit further north, Gold Coast pair Arroyo peddle in soul-infused indie-rock and have worked alongside the likes of Jarryd James and Dead Letter Circus. Home, a fresh tune from the outfit, was debuted by Richard Kingsmill on triple j last night (Sunday, October 7).

Daily Nightly label director Michael Christidis sees the venture as a further branching of the companies commitment to supporting local and international artists.

“Learning the ins and outs of the recordings world has been a lot of work but we aim to start by developing amazing emerging artists and long term we hope to promote some very widely successful records from established artists both from Australia and around the world.”
