ARIA Midweek Predictions: Can Fall Out Boy break their Albums Chart hoodoo?

Fall Out Boy are back with the release of their seventh studio album Mania. Having never hit #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart before (four previous albums came close in the Top 5), theChicago outfit will look to dismantle the Top 3 this week and possibly dethrone The Greatest Showman soundtrack from the top.

Ruins, new album by Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit, is eyeing a Top 10 debut this week. They’ve cracked thebracket once before with 2014 studio album Stay Gold and will look to continue that same form.

Other debuts hitting the Albums Chart this week include a pair of heavy metal/metalcore releases. Defy by Of Mice & Men and Black Label Society’s aptly named Grimmest Hits will both find a spot in the Top 30.

In light of Sam Smith’s recent visit to Australia, the singer’s sophomore studio album Thrill Of It All is moving fast up the chart. Falling to #10 last week, expect to see Sam push for a place in the Top 5 this week.

The Foo Fighters are also in Australia rocking all the major cities over the coming days. This will see their 4x Platinum and former #1 Greatest Hits album push up the chart and into the Top 15.

The Singles Chart will see strong debuts from Dua Lipa (‘IDGAF’), Rudimental (‘These Days’ ft. Jess Glynne, Macklemore & Dan Caplen), Kylie Minogue (‘Dancing’) and Keith Urban (‘Parallel Line’). All four tracks should drop in the Top 40.

Alongside a massive surge to#1 on theTMN Hot 100 airplay chart, as well as the Australian iTunesandShazam charts, Bebe Rexha istranslating her CHR success into sales as ‘Meant To Be’ ft. Florida Georgia Linesizes up a new peak in the Top 3.
