Most Added: Justin Timberlake overcomes Liam Payne and Rita Ora

The new year got off to a killer start at commercial, with a heated week of radio additions that saw Justin Timberlake’s ‘Filthy’ in a tit-for-tat battle with Liam Payne and Rita Ora’s Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack single ‘For You’.

Both singles had nearly identical adds throughout the week, with full support from the Nova, KIIS and Hit networks, as well as Ash London LIVE. In the end, ‘Filthy’ was the marginal victor thanks to the ACE Radio Network who chose a Nights rotation for ‘For You’ compared to Days for JT.

Warner Music posted two strong entries at #3 and #4 on the chart. Bruno Mars’ remix of ‘Finesse’ featuring Cardi B convinced thebulk of major networks, as did Kesha’s ‘This Is Me’ taken from The Greatest Showman soundtrack.

Rounding out the Top 5 this week is local talent Rojdar with his remix of ‘Ignition’ ft. JAYS.Recognised as “one of the next big things in Australian dance music”, the track got attention from the entire Nova network and KIIS Sydney and Melbourne.

For a second week running, Eminem makes the Top 10 with ‘River’ ft. Ed Sheeran. The single takes #8 after cleaning up the remainder of commercial adds following a strong Christmas and New Year’s period.
