Optus launches new music series with global artists
Press Release:
Optus has created a new original music series called Closer to deliver intimate, behind-the-scenes footage of global artists in their most relaxed and honest environments.
Launched today, the Closer series shines a light on the moments that would normally be reserved for a music artist’s family members or best friends. These intimate videos bring Australians ‘Closer’ to the artists they love and each episode is a never-before-seen window into the real lives and true personalities of the global music stars.
The first episode in the series features international star, Anne-Marie, who is most famous for her multi-million selling summer anthem with Clean Bandit, ’Rockabye’.
In Anne-Marie’s video, she touches on her personal feelings, including her daily anxiety which she overcomes through music. The star goes from her relaxed environment at home to an intimate gig where she performs her latest single Heavy for the first time.
The launch of the series demonstrates Optus’ commitment to bringing Australians closer to the music they love.
Optus also provides its customers with data free music streaming on Google Play, iHeartRadio and Spotify.
Optus’ Head of TV and Content, Corin Dimopoulous explained the move for Optus to create the series.
“We created this original series as another addition to Optus’ music and entertainment portfolio. We’re delivering engaging content that can be streamed on the move, which is what Australians are looking for more and more.
“The artists will be launching this content via their social media platforms. This is important to us as the behind-the-scenes episodes reflect how Australians use smartphones to create content and share their own lives,” he said.
