Hot 100 Fast Facts: Camila Cabello, Walk The Moon & Demi Lovato
Cabello’s ’Havana’ good run
Camila Cabello is enjoying a late burst of airplay with her hometown track ‘Havana’ ft. Young Thug. It’s peaking at #5 this week with Nova really upping their commitment to the Cuban-born singer. Melbourne’s Nova 100 and Adelaide’s Nova 919 spun the track 51 times each over the past week.
Walk The Moon still rule the airwaves
‘Shut Up And Dance’ has just recorded its 120th non-consecutive week on the Hot 100. The former #2 single is currently at #74 after more than three years on radio.
One more week in the chart and it equals Mark Ronson’s 121 weeks with ‘Uptown Funk’; four more weeks and it topples Vanessa Amorosi’s ‘Perfect’. It’s still got a fair way to go to match Kings Of Leon’s ‘Use Somebody’– the longest reigning Hot 100 song everat 160 weeks.
Demi Lovato is rewriting her radio legacy
Prior to the release of her radio-slaying track ‘Sorry Not Sorry’, Demi Lovato never had a Top 10 single as a lead artist. She’s put out six studio albums with an abundance of singles on each, yet Aussie radio has never caught on. Now she’s enjoying an uninterrupted five-week run in the bracket, with ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ remaining steady at #9 for another week.
‘Revenge’ is siphoning P!NK’s spins
Debuting at #53 this week, P!NK’s latest single ‘Revenge’ starring The Real Slim Shady himself,Eminem, appears to be siphoning spins from the singer’s other tracks. ‘What About Us’ (#1 to #3) and ‘Beautiful Trauma’ (#11 to #19) each dropped frames this week as most commercial stations have begun to back off. ‘Revenge’ subtly got the attention of KIIS and Nova with more stations set to jump on board.
