Hot 100 Fast Facts: Vance and Mauboy hit new Top 10 peaks

Two Aussies hit new Top 10 peaks on the TMN Hot 100 as One Direction stars remain stuck in a perennial standoff at the top.

After releasing soulful R&B single ‘Fallin’’ in June, Australian Idol runner up Jessica Mauboy catapults to #6 this week, a new peak for the track. It’s her highest position on the chart since ‘Pop A Bottle’ hit #3 in late 2013.

Trailing Mauboy by one spot is fellow Aussie Vance Joy with ‘Lay It On Me’. It landed at #34 on its debut week, and now finds itself firmly nestled in the Top 10 amongst heavy hitters ‘Despacito (Remix)’ and Miley Cyrus’ ‘Malibu’.

Liam Payne and Niall Horan duke itout at #1 and #2 this week, assuming the same positions as last week with ‘Strip That Down’ ft. Quavo and ‘Slow Hands’.

It’s also significant to draw ’Attention’ toCharlie Puth at #12. The single has teetered agonisingly close to a Top 10 berth for the past five weeks.

He’s previously experienced Hot 100 success with ‘See You Again’, co-written with Wiz Khalifa, topping the chart for six weeks last year.

Further down the chart, Louis Tomlinson’s ‘Back To You’ ft. Bebe Rexha and producer Digital Farm Animals is making its expected run up the chart, landing at #14 in its second week on the chart.

And finally, you’ll have to cast your eye way down to #74 for the final TMN Hot 100 Fast Fact. 451 million streams on Spotify, 13 weeks in the Hot 100 Top 10, and 109 total weeks on the chart: Walk The Moon’s ‘Shut Up And Dance’ is the definition of a stayer at radio.

The Nova Network alone played the track 20 times in the last week, while MIX102 spun it 10 times.
