ARIA Charts: Pink keeps No. 1 spot on Albums Chart
Pink has yet again maintained her No. 1 spot in the ARIA Albums chart for her latest effort, Hurts 2B Human.
The American singer has a history of landing number one albums left, right and centre, both overseas and in Australia. The record flew straight to number one the week of its release, and has managed to maintain its spot there, just one place ahead of Billie Eilish’s WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?, which has remained in the charts for the last six weeks.
Meanwhile, Cronulla singer Ruby Fields has entered the charts strongly for her first week. Her EP Permanent Hermit has debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Vinyls Chart, just knocking King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard off their No. 1 throne. Vampire Weekend’s Father of the Bride managed to enter the Vinyl Albums chart at No. 2, just one place behind Fields.
New entrants to the ARIA Albums Chart include Vampire Weekend [#8], Amon Amarth’s Berserker [#19], Ruby Fields [#26] and Bad Religion’s Age of Unreason [#28].
Fields’ multiple entries this week come off the back of an already mammoth current time, with the rocker just signing a booking deal with Primary Talent, who will handle her bookings for Europe and the UK.
Meanwhile, in the top few spots on the Singles Chart, there hasn’t been too much movement. Lil Nas X’s ‘Old Town Road’ has kept its seven week streak in first place on the ARIA Singles Chart – a track that’s bound to already be stuck in your head [even though you’re probably sick of it.] That’s followed by Eilish’s ‘Bad Guy’, which has remained in the top 3 for six weeks, and Pink/Brendon Urie’s ‘ME!’.
Post Malone has remained in the top 10 for the past 29 weeks with ‘Sunflower’, this week placing at No. 8. That track has also been certified 5x Platinum, meaning it’s moved at least 350,000 units.
Benny Blanco’s ‘Eastside’ featuring Halsey, and Khalid is at its 43rd week on the Singles Chart, this week sitting pretty at No. 28.
