Parkway Drive blitz Britain, German charts

Aside from topping the ARIA chart with Ire, Byron Bay’s Parkway Drive are also making waves in Britain and Germany.

Ire also entered Britain’s Official Rock & Metal Albums Chart at #3, the Independent chart at #4 and the Official Top 100 Albums at #23. The band featured on the front cover of Metal Hammer magazine late last month in the set up to its release.

The record also debuted at #8 in Germany.

This sets up the band’s massive UK and European tour early next year, with Thy Art Is Murder and Architects joining the trek in Europe, and Bury Tomorrow in the UK.

Singer Winston said: “(Ire) is the album for us. Every single step of the way, whenever there was gamble to take, we took the biggest one we could. If this isn’t the album that can go further than anything we thought was possible with this band and this type of music, that’s fine, but we can’t go back from this as far as we’re concerned.”
