5SOS poised to follow Sheppard to #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart
Following Sheppard’s chart-topping display on the ARIA Albums Chart, compatriots 5 Seconds Of Summer are set to hit #1 for the second time in their career with new album Youngblood.
The last time two Australian artists debuted at #1 in consecutive weeks was in April 2018. Kylie Minogue’s Golden and Dr G Yunupingu‘s posthumous release Djarimirri (Child Of The Rainbow) went back-back only a few months ago.
If 5SOS go straight to the top of the chart, they will be become the sixth Aussie act to do so in 2018. The album’s lead single ‘Youngblood’ is currently sitting at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
Christina Aguilera is eyeing a spot in the Top 5 with her new record Liberation. Two of the singer’s previous six studio albums have debuted in the Top 5 in Australia (Bionic #3, Back To Basics, #1).
Post Traumatic – the first solo project of Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda – is sitting in the Top 10 at the halfway point of the week, while Jess & Matt’s Songs From The Village will likely settle in the Top 15.
On to the Singles Chart, Nicki Minaj & Ariana Grande’s ‘Bed’ will get a debut this week, as will another collab ‘Ocean’ by Martin Garrix and Khalid. Moving up into the Top 5 this week is Anne-Marie’s ‘2002’.
