Guy Sebastian ‘pumped & honoured’ to host 2019 ARIA Awards
Australian chart-topper Guy Sebastian will host the 2019 ARIA Awards in Sydney next month.
Sebastian is no stranger to the annual night of nights for the music industry. He’s won four awards from 27 nominations since his Australian Idol win.
“I am so pumped and honoured to be hosting the 2019 ARIA Awards,” said Sebastian.
“The Australian music industry is so diverse and I can’t wait to celebrate with you all as we unite to recognise and celebrate how much talent we have to offer the world.”
The 2019 ARIA Awards will be held in Sydney on November 27.
In addition to being live-streamed on YouTube, the 33rd annual ARIA Awards will again be broadcast on the Nine Network.
Last year the awards drew an overnight metro of half a million, a slight dip from 515,000 in 2017 but up from 461,000 in 2016.
But the broadcast of the Australian recording industry’s flagship event still trumped in 2018, topping its target demographic of 16—39 and 18—49 and reaching 672,000 with metros and regionals combined.
Regular viewers of Nine are very familiar with Sebastian, a coach on The Voice Australia.
“ARIA is honoured and excited to have Guy Sebastian as our host for the 2019 ARIA Awards,” said ARIA chief executive Dan Rosen.
“He is one of Australia’s most talented artists and has had an incredible last 12 months.
“Guy will be an amazing host to lead the celebration of another great year of Australian music, and we cannot wait for music fans around the country to see what we have in store at this year’s ARIA Awards.”
Sebastian’s national sold-out Ridin’ With You tour winds up in Sydney this week.
