XCalibre ink deal with new independent label XMusic
Melbourne hard-rock duo XCalibre is the second act to put pen to paper with newly launched record and entertainment venture XMusic.
The band, comprised of veteran musicians who have performed alongside Van Halen, Aerosmith, Karnivool and more, will be represented by XMusic on a global scale, with the signing coinciding with the release of their debut single ‘Stronger‘ last Friday.
XCalibre said that they were looking forward to taking their musical journey even further as part of the XMusic roster.
“After years of doing the hard yards and experiencing what can only be used as inspiration from the music business, we are so excited to be taking this next musical journey of XCalibre into the future. They say no pain, no glory, and we will now let the music speak for itself,” the band said.
Formed by former Sony Music Australia executive and current Better Noise Music director Tim McLean Smith in 2020, XMusic is an independent record label with ties to Xtreme Boxing Corporation (XBC), a soon-to-be-announced global sports and entertainment company.
The label will focus on local artist development and entertainment on an international scale, with McLean Smith noting it will place an emphasis on artists who might be overlooked by major labels.
McLean Smith praised the work ethic and passion of XCalibre in a statement to The Music Network.
“I have been working very closely with XCalibre for a few years and they have the same amazing work ethic and passion for music as I do, so it was a perfect match and so proud of the release today, but there are bigger and better things in the pipeline for both XCalibre and XBC,” McLean Smith said.
The longtime label exec also shed light on XMusic’s connections with Xtreme Boxing Corporation, of which he was also a co-founder.
“XMusic is a division of Xtreme Boxing Corporation, or XBC, which is a new Australian-owned global sports/entertainment business that I am also a co-founder of,” McLean Smith explained.
“It was set to launch in 2020, but COVID-19 has postponed this until we can truly tour globally, taking young Australian artists and athletes to the world stage.
“Watch this space as it’s new, super XCiting and will take the world by storm.”
