Will Gorillaz or Bliss N Eso topple Sheeran this week?
Ed Sheeran’s Divide appears immovable at the top of the Australian Albums chart, but as sales surely dwindle, and time keeps marching forward in measurable increments, another album will soon emerge to take the #1 spot. Right?
This week, the main contenders are Bliss N Eso, who will be hoping for a third straight #1 debut with their album Off The Grid, and Gorillaz, who have benefitted from enormous hype around their Humanz record. Both seem set for top 3 debuts, but it’s too early to predict whether either will have the sales power to topple ol’ Ed.
Other albums set for impressive debuts this weekend, include Adam Harvey & Beccy Cole’s The Great Country Songbook Vol. II: likely to chart in the Top 10; Glee alumna Lea Michele, whose Places should land in the Top 20; and albums from CDB (They did that ’90s cover of ‘Let’s Groove’ from your school discos), New Found Glory, and Airling – all of which should debut in the Top 30.
Willie Nelson’s God’s Problem Child and Tim Rogers’ new concept record An Actor Repairs should both hit the Top 40.
The ARIA Charts are published Saturday night at 6pm.
