West Thebarton, Heaps Good Friends, A.B. Original and more multi-nominees at SA Music Awards
Eclectic rock band West Thebarton topped the list of nominations for the 2018 South Australian Music (SAM) Awards.
Dance-pop outfit Heaps Good Friends had five noms.
Last year’s winners A.B. Original had four, as did ambient pop singer songwriter MANE and indie duo Wing Defence.
The awards are held on Thursday, November 8 at Adelaide Town Hall, hosted by Double J’s Zan Rowe.
Performing are Ollie English, MANE and Adrian Eagle.
“We are so proud of the talent we have here in this state,” says Lisa Bishop, general manager of Music SA.
“These finalists showcase the quality and diversity in our music scene and represent us well as a UNESCO City of Music.
“I look forward to celebrating all of our nominees, finalists and winners at the ceremony.
“The SAM Awards will be a fabulous evening paying tribute to the hard-working people in South Australia’s music industry.”
Last year there were 157 entrants and 7,343 votes cast for the People’s Choice awards.
