Wanna put on an all-ages gig in Sydney? These $15K grants will sure help

MusicNSW and the City of Sydney have opened the second round of their All Ages Access grant program, which funds all-ages events in inner Sydney.

“All ages shows are incredibly important to MusicNSW and City of Sydney”, a presser reads, “as they allow young people the chance to explore their passion for live music in safe spaces, as well as being a valuable investment in future live music audiences.”

As anyone who was an underage music-lover can attest to, these shows are often a first taste of how live music actually happens, actually sounds, and actually is – far from the arena tours of international artists. This grant is designed to encourage the creation of more all-ages gigs, with booking agents, musicians, managers, and venue owners encouraged to team up and apply.

Putting on local shows is often the quickest, and best way to get an understanding of, and foothold into, the music industry.

The All Ages Access Grants will provide funding or up to $15,000 per application to cover artist fees, production and promotion costs for events in inner Sydney between 23 October 2017 and 2 March 2018.

Applications close at 5pm on Friday, 29 September. Successful applicants will be announced on October 9.

Apply here, and good luck.
