Voting for the 2021 APRA Song Of The Year is now open

Voting for the 2021 APRA Song Of The Year is now open

APRA AMCOS members can now vote for the 2021 APRA Song Of The Year and this year there’s a $5,000 prize up for grabs for voters.

Voting for the prestigious 2021 Song Of The Year award, Australian music’s biggest peer-voted accolade, is officially open to all APRA AMCOS members.

But proceedings are going to be a bit spicier than usual for the 2021 award as members voting on the Song Of The Year will also be entered in the running to win $5,000.

That’s right, APRA AMCOS members who vote for the Song Of The Year will get the chance to win $5,000 in cold hard cash, courtesy of Marsh.

With over 90,000 Australian songwriter, composer, and publisher members, it’s going to be interesting to see who will win next year’s Song Of The Year accolade – as well as who will pick up that $5,000 cash prize.

Whoever wins the APRA Song Of The Year award will be joining a celebrated list of previous winners that includes Amy Shark, Paul Kelly and Billy Miller, D.D Dumbo, Kevin Parker, Vance Joy, Sia, Gotye, Kasey Chambers, Angus & Julia Stone, and Yothu Yindi, who were the first to take home the honour back in 1991 for ‘Treaty’.

Most recently at the 2020 virtual APRA Music Awards, Tones And I picked up the peer-voted award for her wildly popular smash hit ‘Dance Monkey’.

Song Of The Year ballots are cast by logging in at the APRA AMCOS website and voting will be open until 12pm AEDT on January 27th, 2021. A shortlist of songs will then be announced in the lead up to the 2021 APRA Music Awards.

When APRA members cast a vote, their names are automatically entered in the draw to win the $5,000 cash prize, as well as two tickets to the 2021 APRA Music Awards.
