UNIFIED Music Group has announced a trio of senior promotions as the company enters its next phase of growth, reinforcing its leadership across people and culture, legal, and operations.

Kat Gibbs has been promoted to Head of People and Culture, Kristin Churley steps into the role of Head of Legal and Business Affairs, and Julian Marshall has been named Group Operations Manager, a newly created role. All three now hold senior Group-level roles supporting the broader UNIFIED Music Group ecosystem, led by Founder and CEO Jaddan Comerford.

The promotions arrive amid a transformative period for the company, following the launch of Community Music – a full artist services ecosystem and platform – a $10 million commitment to artist development, the signing of artists including Pete Murray and Azure Ryder, and the addition of Matt Walters to the UNIFIED Artist Management team. Last month, music and tech executive Rachel Kelly also joined the business to lead Community Music’s Publishing and Sync offering.

“It’s fantastic to be announcing these promotions and rewarding the phenomenal work of these talented individuals,” said Comerford. “When we started UNIFIED Music Group in 2011, we could never have imagined working with people as dedicated, focused and inspiring as Kat, Kristin and Julian. Together with the wider UNIFIED team, we are all-in on building the careers of remarkable talent and local artists.

“It’s such a transformative time for Australia’s music industry, and UNIFIED Music Group continues to be at the forefront of innovation in everything from how we sign and work with artists, to the technology and tools we invest in, create and use,” he continued. “These are the people to help us do just that.”

Gibbs joined UNIFIED in 2022 as People and Culture Manager and has since rebuilt the function from the ground up, drawing on previous HR, recruitment, and training roles at Delaware North and Cotton On Group.

Churley, who joined nearly four years ago from entertainment law firm Media Arts Lawyers, has been instrumental in providing legal and business affairs guidance across all areas of the business. She was also selected as a Board Observer at PPCA, Australia’s music copyright collecting society.

Marshall brings more than a decade of experience with the company to his new role. Originally joining as an Artist Manager at UNIFIED Artist Management, he added the title of Global Operations Manager in 2020 and has played a key role in shaping the careers of artists under the company’s umbrella. As Group Operations Manager, he will now apply his knowledge across the entire organisation.
