Unified announces partnership with Fearless Records
Melbourne-based independent music company Unified continues its banner year this week with the announcement of a partnership with US label Fearless Records.
Unified will market and distribute its roster – which includes At The Drive-In, Pierce The Veil and Mayday Parade – in Australia and New Zealand.
The Californian-based label’s first major release with Unified, Motionless In White’s Reincarnate, debuted at #19 on the ARIA chart this week. The US metal band’s third LP is their first to chart in Australia.
Last week Unified announced its two-day heavy music festival Unify, and earlier this month it announced a partnership with Rise Records. Unified’s heavy alternative label UNFD will release its roster via Rise in the US, including new LPs from Northlane, In Hearts Wake and Hand Of Mercy, as well as back catalogue records by Bodyjar, The Amity Affliction, Deez Nuts and Dream On Dreamer. Last year the company also inked a distribution deal with Warner Music-owned music services company ADA for Europe and UK.

“We have a lot of great relationships in the States,” Luke Logemann, Unified’s Head of Recorded Music told TMN. “We love to help people out when they need us, and when it makes sense financially for both parties.
“The Fearless roster is absolutely incredible and their vision and ethics as a label just fit so well with our company. We can’t wait to push their records through our channels and using our expertise to grow their artists down here in Australia.”
Formed in 1994 by Bob Becker, Fearless Records started the Punk Goes.. series in 2000. 2012’s Punk Goes Pop 5, the 13th instalment of the series, peaked at #16 on the Billboard 200, last year’s Punk Goes Christmas peaked inside the Billboard Hot 100, and this year’s Punk Goes 90s 2 featured Canberra band Hands Like Houses. According to Unified, Fearless are soon to release Punk Goes Pop 6.
