Uni students organise music conference with Chris Murphy, Peter Northcote
A group of university students from the Australian Institute of Music (AIM) have organised a one-day music industry conference.
MusicMaze Conference will focus on the common issue of making money from your passions in the music business and will provide insight from music industry heavyweights such as Colin Blake (Rdio), Peter Northcote (Australia’s Most Recorded Guitarist) and Chris Murphy (Manager INXS).
The conference will be held on August 8 at the Central Park building in Sydney.
MusicMaze’s Project Leader Emily Butel told TMN in a statement: “We hope to provide our attendees with practical advice on how to make a living from their musical passions. Music, and in particular the music industry, is in a volatile state. Now more than ever those who are considering entering this industry as either artists or business entrepreneurs need to be both inspired and given the practical tools on how to do so: this is MusizMaze’s aim.
“The conference, coupled with a networking session, will provide the opportunity for attendees to seek one on one advice from the industry’s key players as well as motivation to further their own careers.”
