Melbourne-based independent music group Unified has added UK band The One Hundred to its predominantly local roster.

The group’s three-year-old label UNFD will release the nu-metal band’s debut EP Subculture on August 29, which will be distributed through Warner in Australia.

The EP was recorded with production duo 40Deep (which coincidentally is the name of a single released by ex-UNFD alumni House Vs Hurricane) and includes radio-played singles Breed and Kingsmen.

The One Hundred are UNFD’s fourth international signings, following UK bands Architects and Hacktivist, and Michigan six-piece We Came As Romans.

Unified’s Head of Recorded Music told TMN UNFD’s deal with The One Hundred marks a first for the label.

“While UNFD has worked with plenty of internationals acts in the past, our deal with The One Hundred is unique in that its the first international act we have signed as a worldwide deal. With our increasing presence in the UK market, we are driving this project out of the UK via our distribution deal with ADA [Alternative Distribution Alliance]. This is a really special act that, early on their career, are already creating a buzz across the world with their unique sound and outstanding visuals that accompany them.”

The One Hundred formed in late 2012 with members of electro/metalcore band Collapse The Control.

The announcement ties in with the release of the quartet’s cover of Iggy Azalea’s Black Widow. Watch the clip below.
