Amy Shark’s team is rounded out by her new record label Wonderlick Entertainment in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment, as well as the appointment of booking agent Stephen Wade at Select Music. With her team in place, Amy is set to make her mark in 2017.
2016 has been a breakout year for Amy Shark. Gold Coast born and bred, the musically contemplative and soulfully brooding Amy Shark can best be described as the creatively complex girl next door. Her most recent introspectivesingle “Adore” – produced by Grammy Award Winning Australian producer M-Phazes – was swiftly added to triple j rotation and earned her Unearthed Feature Artist of the Week. The sparse but evocative single also hit #1 on the Spotify Local List and Viral 50 charts, #4 on the Shazam Australia Top 100 and has amassed over two million streams since its release. Amy, a budding filmmaker, also shot and directed the video herself.
Earlier this year Amy released her single “Golden Fleece” which the AU Review declared “is a must-hear and heralds in a local talent that is guaranteed to only get bigger”. The song was nominated in three categories at the Gold Coast Music Awards and won Pop Song of the Year at the Queensland Music Awards in March.
Since then, Amy has gone on to break hearts with her emotional cover of Silverchair’s “Miss You Love” on triple j’s Like A Version, toured with Cub Sport and played at The Plot festival with Tone Deaf labelling her set “an absolute standout”. She will see out 2016 on tour with Tigertown.
