U.K.’s Festicket expands into Australia with Lost Paradise, Untitled deals

Festicket, the U.K.’s end-to-end ticketing and event management platform, is making a concerted push into Australia’s live space with Lost Paradise and Untitled’s Wildlands and For The Love.

The deals give the company a foothold in Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast and they come some 18 months after Festicket’s acquisition of Event Genius.

In future, Lost Paradise (Glenworth Valley, Sydney), and Wildlands (Brisbane) and For The Love (Melbourne, Perth and the Gold Coast) appoint Festicket as their primary ticketing partner.

“It’s always exciting to move into new territories and we can’t wait to build our team in Australia to help deliver a string of great events in 2021 and beyond,” comments Sam Owens, Head of APAC, Festicket and Event Genius.

The timing of these arrangements says much about the state of live music here. If music festivals in these parts are worth investing in, it’s a sign that business here is on the way back, and that, perhaps, Australia’s live circuit is experiencing a return to normal ahead of other territories.

“It’s been well documented how tough 2020 has been for the festival industry,” adds Owens, “so when promoters of this stature entrust us with helping them get back to running the events their fans love so much it makes it all the sweeter.”

Founded in 2012 by Zack Sabban and Jonathan Younes, Festicket began life as a content hub for the festival experience, building out into a service that combines tickets, travel, accommodation and other essentials.

With its acquisition of Event Genius and Ticket Arena in 2019, the business evolved into one with an end-to-end event management system, offering self-service ticketing, access control and POS cashless payments to promoters and event organisers.

In the same year, Festicket was named in the Financial Times 1000 and Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 lists.
