Two Aussie festivals announce expansion plans; new stages and all ages
Ultra Australia and Under The Southern Stars festivals have expanded their offerings.
Ultra Australia has added a second stage called Resistance.
The main stage will feature the international superstars who were announced yesterday: The Chainsmokers doing a live set, Dutch DJ MAGS, the current #1 DJ in the world Martin Garrix and Marshmello.
Meanwhile, the Don of Drumcode, Adam Beyer, will be leading the charge for the Resistance debut in Australia.
Event organisers said: “After the thrilling debut of ‘Road to Ultra’ in Melbourne this year, we are beyond excited to welcome the full scale ‘Ultra’ experience to both Melbourne and Sydney in February 2019 for Ultra Australia.
“After watching the success of the event in Miami over the last 20 years and across the globe, it’s time we experienced this fantastic festival down under!”
Ultra Australia will first touch down in Melbourne on Saturday, February 23 at Flemington Racecourse, before venturing north to Sydney on Sunday, February 24 at Parramatta Park.
Meantime, Under the Southern Stars promoter Andrew McManus had made the two Queensland shows all-ages events.
This was after Sheppard joined the lineup, which includes Hoodoo Gurus, You Am I, The Superjesus, British India, The Getaway Plan and Scott Darlow.
Under The Southern Stars returns to the Gold Coast for a second year (Broadwater Parklands, Saturday, January 19) and Sunshine Coast for the first time (Sunshine Coast Stadium on Sunday, 20.).
Said McManus, director of Under The Southern Stars and One World Entertainment, “We know there are a myriad of younger fans of Sheppard that would love to attend Under The Southern Stars and see their favourite band play.”
All tickets purchased via Ticketmaster before December 31 go into a draw to win an electric guitar signed by artists on the bill.
