Troye Sivan sets up ‘Bloom’ release in North America

Troye Sivan is starting to set up the August 31 global release of his second album Bloom, out in Australia through EMI/ Universal and in the United States via Capitol.

He’s hit the promo trail in the US, performing two songs earlier this week on NBC’s Today – new single ‘Bloom’ which has generated 10 million combined streams worldwide, and the first single off the album, ‘My My My’ which is approaching global 200 million streams.

The Grant Singer-helmed video for ‘Bloom’ has hit almost 30 million views on YouTube for the track, which Pitchfork had hailed as one of the “first great songs” of 2018.

Another track from the album, ‘The Good Side’ has exceeded 40 million streams.

Not surprisingly, there’s already a great anticipation for what’s coming up on the second album from whom the New York Times described as “A new kind of pop star; here, queer and used to it.”

Sivan has just announced around 30 dates through North America between June 8 and November 8, promoted by Live Nation.

Among the venues he’s hitting are the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, New York City’s Radio City Music Hall and Seattle’s Paramount Theatre.

The 22-year-old will be joined by Kim Petras plus Leland and Carlie Hanson on select dates.

It will be interesting to see if this year sees him move from theatres to arenas in North America.

Sivan followed up his 2915 first album Blue Neighbourhood with sold-out tours across UK, Europe and Australia, as well as two sold-out North American tours.

Blue Neighbourhood, which topped the iTunes charts in 66 countries, sold more than 2.5 million adjusted albums worldwide and is certified platinum in Australia, gold in the US and silver in the UK.

Streams across all platforms exceed 2.5 billion while video views have surpassed 500 million.
