triple j’s Zan Rowe moves to Double J

After 10 years as the face and voice of triple j Mornings, Zan Rowe will finish up on the national youth broadcaster at the end of the year to move over to Double J.

Set to launch Mornings on Double J, Monday to Friday in 2018, Zan Rowe will be rolling over her much loved Take 5 segment to the digital station, which birthed radio moments like Brian Eno’s luminous songs, songs that brought David Byrne and St Vincent together and the songs that changed the life of Laura Jane Grace.

Zan Rowe has called the new position her “new dream job”

“Thirteen years ago, I found my dream job at triple j and for the past ten years I’ve been privileged to be the custodian of the triple j Mornings show,” she said. “triple j is an incredible, national community and the bond that lives between our audience and presenters is a rare gift. I’m so honoured to have been given the chance to discover and share my favourite music with you guys. As I close the door on this chapter, I open the next, and wander down the hallway to our sister station to kick off a brand new Mornings show. It’s time for a new dream job and I can’t wait to discover and share the best new music with you on Double J.”

Rowe will remain the ABC Music Correspondent on ABC News Breakfast and ‘The Mix’. She’ll also maintain her love of film and television as a panellist on ABC TV’s ‘Screen Time’, and will continue to record her pop-culture weekly podcast Bang On with Myf Warhurst.

As one of triple j’s most beloved presenters, Rowe has has countless magic on-air moments, from covering Bush Bands Business in 2014 and meeting Eleanor ‘Nalyirri’ Dixon who went on to form 2017’s Double J Artist of the Year Nominee Kardajala Kirridarra.

Zan Rowe will relive her show highlights and favourite memories of the last decade over the next two weeks.

2018 programs will be announced on Wednesday, where triple j will have a new face taking over triple j Mornings and Double J will featuring a few more new voices on air.
